Farmer Series by Susie Burch Reception September 11, 5:00-6:00

Heirloom would like to invite you to a reception for a solo exhibition of new watercolors from Athens artist, Susie Burch on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 5:00-6:00pm. The paintings are from her “Farmer Series” and were inspired by the hard working, local farmers in the Athens area. The exhibit will hang for the months of September and October.

We encourage attendees to stay for dinner after the reception, as we will be donating 10% of Heirloom’s sales on September 11th to Wholesome Wave. Susie will also be donating 20% of the sale of her artwork during the exhibition to Wholesome Wave.
Wholesome Wave Georgia believes that all Georgians should have access to good, wholesome and locally-grown food. Their goal is to increase access to good food for all Georgians while contributing to the local food economy. By doubling each federal or state nutrition benefit (SNAP, WIC, SFMNP) dollar spent at their partner markets, they leverage existing government food nutrition programs to encourage shopping at local farmers markets. We have chosen to donate to Wholesome Wave as a way to say thank you to the farmers that toil long hours in their fields to allow us to have access to the fresh, local foods that we find at our market each week.

The Athens Farmers Market works with Wholesome Wave and can be found on Saturday mornings at Bishop Park, 8am-12pm, 705 Sunset Drive, and Wednesday evenings at Creature Comforts Brewery, 4pm-7pm, 271 W Hancock Avenue. You will recognize many of the farmers you find there after seeing their portraits hanging on the walls at Heirloom.
